My laptop suspends correctly and I want to tell someone

Closed the lid at 30 percent on Friday. Opened it on Monday at 28. That is the whole post.

Worth adding that this changed in the last release, so older guides mislead.

Saved. I have hit exactly this failure and never found out why.
